Urbanwalks in Wrexham - Why have Wrexham County Borough Council and Groundwork become involved?
We have recently established a group, which aims to increase opportunities for people across the county borough to become more physically active. This dynamic group includes health promotion, leisure, North East Wales Dance and Groundwork. A recent survey of council staff highlighted that for most people the form of activity they engaged in more often was walking. The Urbanwalks programme is a simple way to help people walk more and help them become more habitually physically active. Having the routes already planned out makes it easier to be active and as the routes should take less than 30 minutes they can be completed at lunchtime.

Areas in Wrexham
The first walk leaflet is targeting the town centre and is aimed at people working in the town centre. Future walks will target other areas including industrial parks and the hospital.
